Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Thursday, January 7th we will be celebrating the birth of Christ here in Ethiopia. We trust you had a wonderful Christmas celebration and pray that 2021 will be another year of growing in the knowledge of God's Word and applying it to life.
Answered Prayers!
We had three prayer request in our last newsletter. After a great response to those requests, we are excited to announce that 2 of them have already been fulfilled. First, we were able to purchase supplies for the BBFI Ethiopia office. They have already been put to great use, and we are very thankful to all who gave! Second, each year we work on renewing our residency to continue work in the country. Praise God, all our documents are renewed; and we are ready for another year! Our third prayer request still needs intercession. Please continue to pray for Bethel and the Permanent Light Project.
As all of you know, services throughout the world look very different than they did at the beginning of 2020. Bethel is no exception. We have gone to two services on Sunday mornings. We went to two services so we don’t exceed the maximum number of people (50) allowed to gather on our property. This has led to some unique challenges and opportunities for Bethel members. One challenge was to sanitize between services. After finding the right tools for the job, Dereje volunteered to make sure this was done. While our services do look different we have been able to do things that an online service did not permit (baby dedication). Although we miss being able to see everyone all together, we are grateful for the in person fellowship!
Prayer Requests
Permanent Light - Our goal is $200,000 for land. God has blessed Bethel with a little over $150,000 so far! Please keep praying for God's provision.
Discipleship Classes - We are working on a way to be able to restart our classes. Please pray for Wisdom as we navigate through the options.
Bible College - We had to take an extended break from our classes but look forward to starting back very soon. Please pray for the men who have been faithfully attending classes. (Pawlos, Mussie, Fromsa & Biruk)
