Gardner Jan 2021 - Peru

We are so excited to be writing this prayer letter from Arequipa, Peru! We flew out on New Year’s Eve, and actually celebrated the new year in the sky on the way to the mission field. We are so thankful that we did not take this flight alone as the McCormack family, Lauren Grant, and Andrew Wilder also joined us on this flight to Peru.

They will all be starting their language study at our language school within the next few weeks. I would ask that you would be praying for them as they are trying to get set up. We believe we have already found houses and apartments for them, and we should be signing contracts in the near future. Please pray that they can get all that they need in order to set up their homes, and to live here in Peru. Please also pray that we would be able to start language school as soon as possible.

Peru still has a lot of restrictions due to COVID, and we are trying to work around those. Omega Baptist Church continues to meet in our chapel on the Bible college property, and we are praying that God would open doors for us to meet in a more central location soon. Please pray that we will be able to find a place to rent while we are looking to purchase land for Omega. Moreover, we have had over $20,000 donated for the Omega Land Fund, which brings us to over 10% of our need, and we are so thankful for how God is providing. If you would like to give to this need, you can send a check to Vision Baptist Missions, PO Box 442, Alpharetta, GA 30009 with “Omega Land Fund” in the memo line. We have been praying for this property for many years, and we greatly appreciate your prayers and donations.

Please continue to pray for the Peru Bible College as we are still unsure if we will be able to meet for in-person classes during the upcoming semester due to COVID restrictions. However, we are praying that this the classes this semester will be live and in-person as we believe that this is the best way to do ministry, and to train men and women for ministry. Right before we left for the mission field, we participated in the Our Generation Summit, which is an event that has been held annually for many years, and God has used it in many young peoples’ lives. At this year’s event, fifty two young people signed the pledge stating that they would seek to serve the Lord, and to follow Him wherever He leads them.

We are thankful for so many young people who are willing to give their lives to serve the Lord! Thank you so much for praying for us.
